Babs’ Lab Story Slam is truly one of best introductions to Jax & the minds that shape it. Story Slam is a live storytelling friendly competition (5th year!) similar to poetry slams. Storytellers have 5 to 7 minutes each to tell a TRUE personal story based on a theme chosen for the event without the use of notes. This month’s theme is : enLIGHTen, which corresponds perfectly with the artist spotlight of the month, Mere Mason, who’s an artist that I’m personally obsessed with! From radiant lighting fixtures to exquisite tables & vases, each piece is a testament to Mere's unparalleled talent!

The artist reception starts at 7:15pm, where you’ll be introduced to Mere’s work (image on right is one of her lighting fixtures, Mere is pictured on left). The Slam starts at 8pm.
• Audience members can prepare a story and enter their name in a hat or decide to sit back and listen.  • Up to 10 people's names are picked from the hat.  • Audience votes for their favorite storyteller for the grand prize!
