If Hiromi Moneyhun is listed as the exhibiting artist, I very highly suggest you take note. Having seen many of her exhibits over the years, I can guarantee that you’ll be impressed by not just her technique, but the narratives that surround whichever exhibit she’s currently presenting.
A native of Kyoto, Japan, she transforms paper into intricate, visually stunning works of art through meticulous cutting techniques. Her newest exhibit, SHIBARI 縛り - which translates to ‘binding’ - is represented by by interweaving the female form into bonsai trees, both experiencing binding in different ways. I highly suggest stopping by Saturday night to experience her work in person & learn more about the meaning of her work during her artist talk at 7:30p.
