The Grammy award-winning group El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico is coming to the Florida Theatre on Friday July 15, 2022. Few musical groups have endured half a century maintaining their rhythmic identity unchanged, overcoming the pushes of the record industry and resisting the vicissitudes of consumer culture as El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico has done. Since its foundation, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico cultivates an important space in our Puerto Rican and Antillean songbook, standing out as one of the few musical institutions that assume the social and historical representation of the development of our melodic modernity, transiting with vigor through the interpretation of rhythms such as bomba, guaracha, merengue, boogaloo, jala-jala, bolero, tango and, of course, sauce.
