It only makes sense to celebrate James Weldon Johnson’s Birthday (the mind that penned “Lift Every Voice and Sing”) and Juneteenth in the middle of downtown at James Weldon Johnson Park! As the week long “JWJ Young Writer’s Festival” wraps up on Sunday, the students will get to perform alongside professional writers, poets, musicians,+. A ton of musicians will be performing throughout the two days, including everyone from Terry “Doc” Handy and the Northside Jazz Ensemble, and Ray Mezo Jazz Ensemble to Longinue Parsons, II.
As always, a ton of food, drink, and activities for the whole family will be available on both days! Check in with JWJ Park social media page to get more details!
