The FIRST Duval Comic & Zine Fest is coming up this Saturday at the Main Library in Downtown & pulling out all the stops for the comic book/zine community. They’re bringing you 40+ local, self-published creators and teaching you how to make your own zine. Three “Lit Chats” with author’s will take place throughout the day, with special guest, Jim Rugg, the Eisner Award-winning cartoonist & illustrator (published by everyone from Marvel to New York Magazine), for the 3:30 session - interviewed by none-other than our very own Badr Milligan!
They'll also have local poet, teacher, independent journalist and zinester Kiana Morgan from 12:30 - 1 p.m. and Emma Jensen - a comic artist, editor and Assistant Executive Director of Sequential Artists Workshop (in Gainesville) from 1:30 - 2 p.m.
