Memorial Day weekend means four days of live jazz, and this year’s lineup is stacked. Kool & The Gang, Janelle Monáe, The Roots, Trombone Shorty, Maysa, Spyro Gyra, and Tank and the Bangas are all hitting the stage. The Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition kicks things off on Thursday at Florida Theatre. Whether you’re into smooth sax, funky brass, or experimental fusion, there’s a set for you. Bring a chair, stay a while.
