Reina Kashima is a Chicago-born, Japanese-American artist based in Jacksonville. In July of 2023, she retired as an Operations Specialist Senior Chief Petty Officer from the U.S. Coast Guard & was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (MSM) for outstanding meritorious achievement & 20 years of honorable service. Today, Kashima is a full time visual artist & upcycle designer, heavily inspired by her international travel with the Coast Guard, music, & streetwear fashion.

Kashima’s first solo exhibit is titled ‘HYPER MONOCHROME’ and taking place at Ocean Street Tequila (former 1904) in Downtown Jax this Saturday. This is a free interactive event with elements of 3D & Blacklight Art along with selfie lighting & photo interaction!

This event is in partnership with The Influence Crew part of ‘Art on Ocean’ series taking place every Second Saturday & will also showcase a sound art exhibit called ‘Retro Mixtape’ being presented DJ 151
