THE SOUL PORCH: Celebrating ill Clinton at Sesquicentennial Park

  • Sesquicentennial Park - Springfield 1527 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL, 32206 United States (map)

The Soul Porch returns this year to honor the late multi-instrumentalist and music producer ill Clinton (AKA Clinton Murphy), who, along with his friends, created The Soul Porch (originally “The Other Porchfest”) to stand up to the systemic exclusion of local Black artists and other artists of color from community festivals and events. Clint was beloved by his community as he exuded a huge heart of kindness and took much effort to create welcoming spaces and opportunities for the local creative arts community. We want to remember our friend and continue in spirit the movement he took initiative to begin by bringing The Soul Porch back in his honor.
