The only place you’ll catch me the entire week will be The Jessie! From a music & movie festival, to an artist meetup and exhibit opening. The theme of all the events is based around Jacksonville’s 200 year history and envisioning what the next 100 years will bring.
8/9: Artist Salon - Artist meetup with the central discussion around the creative economy. GREAT way to meet professional artists.
8/10: Our Music, Our Future - produced by Winterland Presents, 4 local & national artists taking over the Jessie alleyway - including a vinyl market, sound bath meditation & synth exploration
8/11: Filmmaking Contest and Celebration - curated by LOL JAX Film Fest, Jax filmmakers present & compete with new works around the theme. This is where to meet the people involved with film that you need to know in the city.
8/12: Writing Contest and Celebration - 904ward x Jax Literary Arts Festival host all literary artists to perform x compete around the theme of past & future Jax
8/13: “Past, Present, Future”: - exhibit opening of visual artists Dustin Harewood, Malcolm Jackson, Jordan Walter & Toni Smailagic.
